iPhone internationalization (i18n) tutorial
With the American economy as it is, and the European Union not yet very affected by the crisis, it makes more sense than ever to sell your iPhone apps internationally. The effort involved in becoming a global player is quite low: XCode makes it easy to internationalize apps and the App Store offers you easy access to a huge non-American customer base. So instead of programming more apps right now, how about first making sure that your current apps realize their full potential?
Follow this tutorial to localize your app.
0. Should I translate my iphone app? Is it translateable?
1. Setting up languages, localizing the interface and images
2. Dealing with text that comes up later
3. Including App Store descriptions in the right language
4. Working with translators - COMING SOON!
Keep in mind that it is of the utmost importance that your app's translation and of course the App Store description sound professional, so that people trust you with their money. You need a native speaker at the very least, but preferably one who has both formal training as a translator (for professional work and appealing phrasing) and experience in translating software (so he won't accidentally break anything). Don't know anyone who fits that description? That's what we're here for. Please contact us.
